Below is what I did, although I did some bits of this before when asked but I guess not fully as below? It would seem, for me anyway, the issue was with the Rockstar Game Launcher. They had me messing about with DNS settings etc but nothing worked. The seemed to want to blame my Internet connection at first but I knew it wasn't that as my other games were working fine, it was just my Rockstar games. Over the course of a week there were numerous messages back and forth with Rockstar about the issue and I was asked to try many things which I did but were unsuccessful and to be honest I was thinking they didn't have a clue BUT this morning I followed further instructions from Rockstar sent to me overnight and the game now works perfectly again. By the way I play all these games through Steam. I even rolled those back to the previous version in the vain hope that was the reason it had stopped working and this would cure it? Of course it didn't. The only thing I'd done after last playing RDR2 was to update my Nvidia graphics drivers. I read many threads online with 'solutions' but nothing worked for me. The following day I got the dreaded "Your Social Club account is not entitled to Red Dead Redemption 2" etc etc and it had stopped working as had GTA 5, RDR, GTA4 etc. On a Sunday morning I played happily on RDR2 without any issues. I had the same problem as everyone else on this thread. Morning guys, I know this post is a long time after the original posting but it may help someone in the future.
